UPDATE 31ST AUGUST

Believe it or not I made a page for the 30th but SHE messed it up so now I am all behind and it here it is the 31st.

Mind you we have been enjoying the GREAT OUTDOORS more than ever this week as it has been nice and sunny and very tempting.

This morining she got tbe flipping ANIMAL out again and whizzed it around and got all my carefully woven dog hairs out of the carpets again; she is annoying. It did not take long and we soon got back in the garden, hanging out the clothes and drinking coffee and I got a treat which was nice....

Have you had a look at Signe ? She is lovely isn't she. In the winter in Sweden 'parently it is VERY cold and Signe grows a lovely think coat - will send you one of her later in the year when she has grown it back again!

Think that's all for tonight; will go and see what the family are getting up to - watching TV I suppose

Swedish Girlfriend

Hi again; thought you would like to see a picture of my Swedish girlfriend today! Realised you had probably not seen her and she is putting comments on my blog (which is very nice of her) and thought you should get a glimpse of how pretty she is! Signe is my 'pen friend' really as we have never met in real terms but our 'mums' email each other all the time and we keep in touch too.

TUESDAY 28TH

We've been out for our morning walk as usual and all quiet on the western front round our way. Now she is doing some stuff on her own website thank goodness; leaving me alone for a bit! All this thinking up witty stuff to put on my Blog is tiring; but at least I get to have a say once in a while.

Apparently she is going into her old office next week to 'give them a hand' poor things. She SAYS they have asked her to but I wonder if they don't just feel a bit sorry for her now she has retired. They probably imagine she has nothing to do now, instead of which we are walking more, getting more website work done and HOOVERING!

She has gone a bit mad now (between you and I). The other day she announced that she had got a new ANIMAL. Well I tell you I was horrified! What sort I wondered would it be? A lion or a tiger or worse still a cat? She loves cats [but I don't] so as we are presently without one (since our lovely Creasey died) I keep reminding her 'just in case'.

Anyway, I digress. The following day the doorbell went and she said the 'Animal had arrived'. It was in a huge box so I escorted it in just to be on the safe side, to protect and guard her you understand. She was giggling and fussing about like a nit-wit and opening the box and I was very apprehensive, getting ready to pounce in case of need and so on and so on.

Believe it or not it was a vaccuum cleaner! A VACCUM CLEANER. We already have a red cylinder sucky thing that tries to get up my dog hairs (and is OK but she grumbles a bit that it does not do it quick enough or something). Anyway, this thing - the ANIMAL - is silver and lavender and whizzes around like mad and sucks up all the pet hairs and grit; she had an initial play with it (the boss went out to the allotment of course "out of the way he said") and I had to supervise.

I don't like the noise but kept my distance and admired the thing and all that and listened whilst she told the boss all about it on his return, insisting he admired the carpets and goodness me you would have thought we had had some sort of miracle instead of just a bit of vacuuming!

Thankfully she has put it in the cupboard under the stairs and uses is normally from time to time (still singing its praises) but I am working hard at providing te pet hairs to use all thetime, so I am not obsolete of course.

Shhhhhhhhhhh (here she comes) - don't let her read this bit otherwise it will remind her about it and she will get it out and start zooming around - just when it is nice and peaceful!

Dear little robin has been again today (as usual) and we have had a chat and I told him/her all about this stuff and it was very sympathetic.

Bye for now .. back later

Bank Holiday Monday

Well now it's a Bank Holiday and ANOTHER lazy day!!! The Boss has gone down to his friend's allotment - with a flask of coffee and some choccie biscuits - and he and his pal Jim lad will be putting the world to rights and being all knowning and everything. Mind you I am not complaining 'cos he will be back for lunch.

Sue and I had our usual walk in the early part of the morning before it got too warm and then after we had packed his Lordship off to his get-together we had some coffee and toast under the trees in the garden and it was super .

There is a little robin that comes - not big boss robin, but a new little thing - this year's crop the Boss calls him - and he comes every day and sits on the bird bath and looks at us for crumbs.

At first we thought he was a lady robin 'cos from inside the kitchen window the little bird looks all brown - but there are a few red feathers coming and so we think it is a young male.

Anyway, by lunchtime we had some crumbs from the sandwiches and he/she got a few to enjoy!

We did a bit of website stuff this afternoon; I composed what to say here - and she had to type it us together with something of her own so we were busy on the keyboard!!!

Tomorrow we have got to walk to the post box to post some of the things we made today so that's another outing to look forward to

night night for now !

In the Garden

We had our usual evening wander last night and this morning got up to a lovely day - sun shining, light breeze, birds on the bird table, lovely.

The boss decided he wanted to have a lie-in; he likes to watch a TV programme at 9 am on Sundays so Sue and I put the kettle on and went out with our back pack (my water bottle, some bits and pieces and so on) and sauntered around on our Sunday morning ramble.

It is pleasing to see how many people have been out in the garden since the rains went away.

When we got home and had had some breakfast, SHE decided to do a bit of gardening! Just when we had settled down for a few minutes with the paper too!

Anyway, thankfully she just did a bit of tidying up and trimming some shrubs that are taking over. They are thinking of getting a garden bench to go under the trees so some more gardening is called for apparently! Hey ho, never a minutes peace.

THEN - to my horror - she suddenly reminded me that she had promised me a bath today if it was less breezy than yesterday. Flipping heck! Oh well, if I co-operate and don't mumble she gets on with it. I stand on the path and she gets two buckets of warm water and a flannel and some shampoo - and she dilutes the shampoo, wets my coat and then pours the stuff on. I pretend I hate it but actually it feels quite nice !!! She massages me - the best bit of course! - and then rinses me off and then I have to pretend it is awful again - we chaps have to let them think we are not standing for this prissy nonsense you know.

Thenl the worst bit; she TOWELS me to dry me! I don't like towelling; she's now got some special things she bought at Crufts; they look like big wash leathers and they blot up the moisture or some such ridiculous nonsense. Acutally, seemed to work but don't tell her for goodness sake ......

Lunchtime - Saturday 25th August 2007

Well we have been out for our morning walk! [Had a bit of a lie in this morning - HER idea of course] - I kissed her cheek once and that was nice 'cos she wakes up and strokes my head of course - then I lay down patiently but after a short while SHE realised I needed to go out and stretch my legs!

I have a bit of arthritis nowadays and after a good night's sleep I am a bit stiff in my joints and ready for a stroll which helps a lot.

We met our friend Scruffy today and seh is a lovely little ginger terrier who lives near us. She is a bit shy but I like her now I have got to know her - she is a 'rescue' too apparently and she has a jolly nice life

The folks who provide shelter for us lost dogs in the first place do a marvellous job. I was taken in by Jerry Green Foundation Trust and they looked after me and found me this wonderful home; I have a lovely family and lots of nice meals and cuddles and walks ... oh I could go on and on

Anyway, we had a late breakfast and some toast (my favourite but I am on a diet - more of this later!!!) and boiled eggs (for them) and now I am having my late morning nap ...

speak again later

Introduction to Chez Doggy Daily News

Hello all - this is Chez just starting this diary thingy! As I am a dog - a Border Collie actually and very bright of course - I am not used to this IT and PC lark - does it mean 'Intelligent Today' or Please Chez' or something like that ???

...only joking .. I am getting this news place ready before we go for our early morning walk tomorrow; that is always the best part of the day because there are always lots of lovely new sniffs and reports to discover .. I check out where all my pals have passed by and then I usually bump into one or two of them when I am out with Sue - she thinks she is in charge but of course we dogs know this is nothing of the sort !!!

Hopefully today we will meet up with my best friend 'Meg'. She is a Border Collie too so we get on very well. She is a bit older than me but don't tell her I said so as women get funny about discussing age apparently

Anyway, she was around when my predecessor was able to go for walks and they were friends too. I was a bit apprehensive when I first came here and went out because I was 'rescued' or something and I did not know anyone. Anyway, Meg took me under her wing (paw) and made me feel at home which was lovely

So here we go ... be back later on to tell you all about it
